Tethered Reality: Prologue

Tethered Reality: Prologue In the dark the fires of midnight make a planet in their infinite compression of time tears to let existence spark a dissonant echo against the furnace of sentient cosmology. Dust evolves to extremophiles or gathers as drifting moons while hell and heaven become ground and sky where atoms become genes errant gathering into crystalized structures and forming the first molecular creatures. Volcanoes pour into the sea as the plants begin the first world war and ravage the last of the writhing surface primordial molecules for food as endless battle between sentient vines and deceitful grasses and giant trees scream claims of dominance in nitrogen rains only to find fate in the oxygen they make suffocating themselves and their waning reigning powers of lightning striking the skies as it smites them and igniting the air causing waves of fires to cross empires until tides incinerate desires and the few that can escape flee to Venus. Earth settles form and the last lava serpents retreat into the bright darkness of the molten heavy metal core as life metabolic chases poorly understood commotion to the air above the shores. The aquatic become terran by consuming any and all as the winds welcome what that wills and evolve into the winged ones and those with thumbs and when the mountains fell from the stars the skies became again old and angry quickly killing the scaled giants and sending the flying ones to Mars. The scaled wise ones were abandoned and the groundlings helped them, but the air was cold as it slept in the shadow of the fallen mountains and the scaled ones fed on their caretakers, but were not made to dig for food so deep and Earth was left to the rodents. Among rodents were placental and marsupial life, over eons the sea tide brought new evolutions of primal coincidence to land, leaving shells and keeping safety. When there were many languages and the art was exemplary the marsupials began incubating the young in the largest litters first, and saw placentals as a wasteful threat, and so eradicate them. The marsupials had their own senseless wars, and brood paradigms, as history tends to have, and yet they watched the offspring thru era, refining desired traits and dividing into new breeds of the same race. A large portion of their culture dedicated to the incubation colonies, resources to stasis and nutrition, and religion and myths surrounding this truth of their own. Their hives filled with countless litters of dozens or more, sects of their planet divided by the peaceful, the saboteurs, and the domineering, but their numbers met match of resources and fate of entropy as their numbers suffered premature fatality and smaller litters. Their work focused on energy for the mega den led to discovering portals, and their intelligent experiments showed them a window to another world, where placentals, and more accurately humans, hold Earth's dominion.
